Plant Specifications
Satureja Montana subsp. var. prostrata. Perennial. Full Sun to Partial Shade. Height: 6”-8”.
Very low growing, creeping herb with curled miniature leaves. Smaller leaved than the winter savory. Blooms in Spring with delicate white to lavender flowers throughout the leaves and branches.
In the Garden
Does best on a hillside, and beautiful trailing in a rock garden, or charming in hanging baskets.
Grows somewhat slower than Winter Savory.
Plant Uses
A culinary herb, wonderful in meat, breads, stews, soups and beans.
