Provence Lavender

Plant Specifications

Lavandin X Intermedia. Perennial. Sun. Height: 24” Width up to 30”
Wide lobed silvery green leaves form a lush shrub-like plant.

In the Garden

Provence Lavender is in the same lavender family as Dutch, Fred Boutin, and Grosso lavender called Lavindin. It is one of the hardiest lavenders you can plant in your garden. It will grow into a large, silver, shrub-like plant that is about two feet tall. Be careful not to overwater your lavender. It needs well drained soil and full sun because it doesn’t like wet feet. Due to the rocky soil that provides excellent drainage, this lavender will grow great in the Texas Hill Country. It will bloom in mid to late summer.

Plant Uses

Provence Lavender is used for its oil and strong lavender scent that is very relaxing and soothing. Use the fresh cut or dried stems to make hand bouquets that can be placed on the table or left in a windowsill to add color and fresh scent to your home. Also, place to fresh cut stems in bath water and have a relaxing experience in the bath.
The purple flowers look great in fresh flower bouquets.
