Thymus x citriodorus (cross between a pulegioides and vulgaris) ‘Lemon’ Hardy Perennial. Sun. Height: up to 12”. Width: up to 14” Small upright, bushy plant with dark green leaves and a sweet lemony fragrance.
In the Garden
Wonderful in the garden due to its dark rich color and heady lemony scent. A rapidly growing thyme that has beautiful pale lilac blooms. Another thyme that insists on well drained, rocky soil and moist, not saturated water conditions. Prefers cooler temperatures, therefore does best in south Texas during the Fall and Spring.
Plant Uses
Excellent for culinary uses. Lemon thyme’s fragrance and flavor are perfect for fish, chicken, baking, salads and fruit dishes.
